INTRODUCTION

My name is Tory. I’m a 32 year old father of 5 and am currently 417 days sober. I am a family man all the way through and love the outdoors. I grew up with a very good childhood. Aside from my parents divorcing when I was 8, my mom always made sure we had everything we needed and more. I began the dark road of alcohol abuse at the young age of 13. My mom had found out that I lost my virginity and told my dad in hopes of him punishing me while I was at his house for the weekend. Rather than punish me, my dad decided it deserved celebration and began letting me drink at his house on the weekends I was there. This led to me becoming a alcoholic by the age of 15. I didn’t see it then, but looking back I was 100% an alcoholic.

Skip ahead a few years and I seemed to be finally pulling my head out of my ass. I joined the Army at 17, got married at 18 and had my first child. A beautiful little girl. I continued drinking all through my first marriage. We had 2 more children together and stayed together for the kids. I finally took the big leap and decided divorce would be best not only for us, but for the kids. Shortly after I met the woman of my dreams. I never knew I could love anyone so deeply. Still to this day I get butterflies in my stomach when I look at her. She was also recently divorced and had a little girl of her own. I love that little girl like she is my own flesh and blood. You wouldn’t even know it unless I told you. Our relationship was great in the beginning, but alcohol soon became a problem for the both of us…
